Every project brings a new challenge
As a Naval Architect, I work on a wide range of maritime projects where engineering, calculations, and practical solutions come together. The variety of challenges and the responsibility within projects make the work engaging. Through open collaboration and the broad expertise within the team, I continue to develop myself while working on smart and practical solutions every day.
During my studies, I was first introduced to Saltwater through a project during my minor. Later, I reconnected with the company through a former classmate who was already working at Saltwater. The combination of technical challenges, different disciplines, and the open working atmosphere immediately appealed to me, which ultimately led me to join Saltwater.
As a Naval Architect, I work on designing and calculating solutions for maritime projects. My work includes platform designs, strength checks for deck equipment, and updating technical drawings. I mainly use software such as RFEM, BricsCAD, and various calculation tools in Excel. The combination of designing, engineering calculations, and practical problem-solving is what makes the work interesting to me.
What makes my work challenging is that no two projects are the same. Even when working on similar vessels or equipment, every situation requires a different approach. You constantly need to consider the technical feasibility and practicality of a solution.
What I enjoy about working at Saltwater is the combination of a close-knit organization with a broad range of expertise and disciplines. Collaboration within the team is approachable, and colleagues always make time to help or think along with you. There is also genuine personal involvement, which creates a great balance between work and team spirit.
The variety of projects, the responsibility you are given, and the opportunity to continuously learn new things are what make me enjoy working here.
Outside of work, I like to stay active. I enjoy cycling, traveling, and hiking, and I regularly spend time with friends. In addition, I enjoy swimming, gaming, and playing board games in my free time.
